Being secure online is a hot topic of 2017. As reported back in January of this year, Google will soon begin to punish websites that do not make use of SSL to protect their visitors and their data, by penalising their search engine rankings and making it obvious to visitors that the site is not secure.
We wrote about SSL back in 2015 in a blog post that you can read here.
To that end, we recommend that all our customers make use of SSL going forwards, regardless of whether your website handles customer's personal data and/or payment information or not. We have recently installed SSL on the Ansta website and would urge our clients to get in touch to discuss getting your site up to date.
Not only does having your website SSL (that's https:// instead of http:// to clarify) secure your visitor's data, but it also gives users piece of mind and will no doubt eventually end up helping your search engine rankings.
If you want to talk to us about making your website secure, drop us an email or give us a call and one of the team will run you through what we can do to help.
