Statistics and Analysis

Statistics and Analysis
Web analytics is the measurement, collection, analysis and reporting of internet data for purposes of understanding and optimising web usage. Either Web server logfile analysis or Page tagging are great tools for Web analytics.

Page tagging

Page tagging collects web site data using a third-party data collection server. There are a number of options we could offer here, although in most cases Google Analytics would cover all your needs.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is the enterprise-class web analytics solution that gives you rich insights into your website traffic and marketing effectiveness. Powerful, flexible and easy-to-use features now let you see and analyse your traffic data in an entirely new way. With Google Analytics, you're more prepared to write better-targeted ads, strengthen your marketing initiatives and create higher converting websites.

Web server logfile analysis

Web servers record some of their transactions in a logfile. By analysing these log files we can produce rich analytics within your web browser. There are few advantages and disadvantages in Web server logfile analysis. It is very flexible on tracking different data types (like PDF documents) with very little effort (compared to page tracking), but has its own limitations as it is very dependent on a platform where it was installed.
